Less on-line, more in-person

After a slow start of the year, we are blessed with several new regular visitors in the Fall of 2022. This has been partly influenced by the fact that we have cut back on our online presence.

Since a few months ago, we decided not to post new full sermons online. We only post the introduction of each sermon on our youtube channel. At the end of every video there is a call to action, asking people in Bucharest to attend the church if they want to hear the sermons. Likewise, we do not post the Sunday School series on apologetics.

We decided on this new approach because we realized that too many people got used to just watching online. We do provide a free subscription for people who live in other cities and this has helped us create a list of people from other cities who are interested in Reformed theology, as more that 50 people from other cities have signed up and they receive a weekly email with the full sermon.

Last month, we were also greatly encouraged by our annual oversight visit. Rev. William Godfrey, pastor of our overseeing church (Christ United Reformed Church in Santee, California) visited us for 10 days and besides preaching and teaching was of great help with advice both for myself and for Claudiu, our local elder.

We pray the Lord will continue to strengthen in wisdom and love towards the people of Bucharest.
